A drug-free way to relieve pain and what is"itis"?
Mar 30, 2026You’ve probably heard words like arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis… but have you ever stopped and asked what “itis” actually means?
Because once you understand this, the whole conversation around pain starts to make a lot more sense.
“Itis” simply means inflammation.
So anything that ends in itis is not just pain — it’s a part of the body that is inflamed.
Here are a few common examples:
-
Arthritis – inflammation in the joints
-
Tendonitis – inflammation in a tendon
-
Bursitis – inflammation in the fluid-filled sacs that protect your joints
-
Plantar fasciitis – inflammation in the tissue along the bottom of the foot
-
Sinusitis – inflammation in the sinuses
Different body parts…
but the same underlying issue.
And here’s where this gets really interesting.
Most people are told they have a condition.
But what they actually have is chronic inflammation that has settled into a specific area of the body.
Now, you might be wondering…
What actually causes the inflammation in the first place?
For most women over 40, it’s not just one thing. It’s usually a combination of:
-
Stress and an overworked nervous system
-
Blood sugar spikes and crashes
-
Hormone changes (especially after 40)
-
Too much sitting and not enough movement
-
Tight fascia and weak supporting muscles
-
Poor sleep and chronic fatigue
So what do most people do when they feel pain?
They take a painkiller to reduce the inflammation.
And sometimes that’s necessary.
But maybe you’re like me…
You don’t love the idea of relying on pills. You just want to reduce the inflammation naturally and actually help your body feel better — not just mask the pain.
I want to talk about what most people do when pain shows up… and what you can do instead.
Because let’s be honest.
When something hurts, most people reach for a pill.
It’s familiar. It’s easy. And sometimes it works quickly.
But over time, pain medications can take a toll on your body — especially your gut, your liver, your mood, and even your sleep. They may dull the pain at first, but they don’t solve the cause of the pain… and you know that helping women get to the root cause is what I care about most.
Often the relief wears off, and you need a stronger dose or a combination of pills. And that’s when people start to feel stuck in a cycle of pain → medication → temporary relief → pain again.
But pain isn’t your enemy.
Pain is your body’s signal that something is off.
So what if there was a better way to support your body when pain shows up?
I recently discovered something called IceWave Patch (it's been around since 2004)— and what I love most about it is that it’s non-invasive, drug-free, and incredibly simple to use.
Instead of putting anything into your bloodstream, it works through phototherapy. The patches stimulate specific points on the body that naturally help reduce inflammation and calm pain signals. In other words, you’re not forcing your body to stop feeling pain — you’re helping it activate its own healing response. And honestly… I think that’s pretty amazing.
Each IceWave set comes with two patches:
30 white patches and 30 tan patches.
You use one of each patch together (almost like a bracket) and place them around the source of the pain. The dual-patch setup helps create a flow between two points, which can help improve circulation to the area, calm nerve signals, and reduce inflammation naturally.
I actually used it the other day when I had a headache — and my headache disappeared. No foggy feeling. No crash. Just relief.
Here’s a simple way to think about the difference:
Traditional pain medications block pain signals to the brain.
IceWave supports your body so it can restore flow through the painful area.
Pain medications can take 15–60 minutes (sometimes longer).
IceWave often works within minutes when placed correctly.
Pain medications can affect digestion, liver health, sleep, and energy.
IceWave has no drug interactions and no side effects.
Pain medications tend to mask symptoms.
IceWave supports the body in reducing inflammation and improving circulation at the source.
And one of the things I love most? It can be used safely long-term because you’re not building chemicals in your body and there’s no tolerance.
People often try it out of curiosity… and then realize they don’t need to sedate their body just to feel better and stop relying on pain pills.
Whether it’s a sore shoulder, knee pain, lower-back pain, aching joints, headaches, or the wear-and-tear that comes from busy lives and long hours sitting — this is such a simple, natural option to try before reaching for medication.
